Comment: Although the majority of respondents indicate that they are less likely to travel, it is
interesting to note that Americans have actually been traveling more this year in spite of increased oil
prices.
|
Comment: This split decision was expected given the tense situation between these two long-hostile
nations. The fighters were most likely offered to Pakistan in reward for the nation's assistance in
Afghanistan. India was probably also made the same offer more to ease political tensions than any
particular desire to buy them. In any case, any sales that result should help boost the F-16 production
line now that orders have been declining.

Comment: It is surprising to see that nearly a quarter of our respondents never fly in an average
year. Among our own staff members, we tend to average in the 10 to 15 range.
|
Comment: Whether the Syrian government was directly involved in the assassination or not, it is
clear that the majority of the Lebanese people no longer want Syrian troops present in their country.

Comment: With such a strong show of support, it is somewhat surprising that Bush's proposals have
met with so little fanfare from the general public. While there remain many details about funding to work
out, we look forward to a renewed support of the space program that should provide a boost to the
economy and technological innovation.
|
Comment: It is difficult to evaluate the Navy's decision knowing so little about the relative
advantages and disadvantages of the two competitors. However, we strongly disagree with those who have
blasted the decision simply because the winner is a foreign company. No one can deny that the winning
EH-101 is an excellent helicopter and is certainly capable of meeting the requirements of a VIP transport.
