Comment: The one-sidedness of this poll was a bit surprising as guided missiles were expected to
garner more votes. Nevertheless, radar has certainly proven to be a pivotal innovation that likely
saved England during WWII.

Comment: It was rather interesting to observe how the results of this poll swayed over the course of
two weeks. Every suicide bombing caused a lurch to "Yes," every Israeli attack a lurch to "No." In the
end, the result was an even split.

Comment: This makes an interesting comparison with an ABC News poll of early February 2002 in which
only one-quarter of respondents answered yes.

Comment: This one was basically split down the middle during the entire voting period. Since we
are getting very little information on the course of this investigation, it seems premature to make any
conclusions on grounding what is still one of the world's safest planes.
