Comment: It's not terribly surprising that the 747, easily one of the most popular aircraft on our
site, received such a strong show of support. But the future does indeed look pretty bleak for Boeing's
premiere product with orders at an all-time low. We can only hope that the new QLR models will breathe new
life into the program.
|
Comment: We are pleasantly surprised to see that most voters seem to concur with our assessment that
this is a rather shameless marketing ploy, on the part of the Air Force, to make their vaunted wonder
weapon seem more well-rounded.

Comment: Terrorism is a strange business, and those who practice it certainly have an array of
types of targets they choose to go after. It seems likely that some major target within the US will
eventually come under attack, but we can only hope that world governments continue to go after their
organizations and sources of money to keep them off balance.
|
Comment: These results were quite a bit more optimistic than most national polls, but that's not
too surprising considering the pro-aviation nature of our visitors. Nevertheless, it is interesting to
note that the percentage of "No" votes jumped about 9% in the two days leading up to September 11.

Comment: At this point, our respondents seem to favor military action against Iraq far more than the
general public, which makes an interesting comparison with our March 2002 poll on the subject.
|
Comment: The percentage of NASA's budget spent on aviation has fallen so low that it almost can't
even be called the National AERONAUTICS and Space Administration anymore. Unfortunately, there are many
advanced aircraft technologies that industry doesn't have the money or infrastructure to develop on its
own, so more NASA investment is clearly needed.
