Charles Lindbergh


Charles Lindbergh was the first pilot to complete a solo, nonstop flight across the Atlantic Ocean. He flew from Long Island, New York, to Paris, France, on 20-21 May 1927 in 33.5 hours. Following his aviation first, Lindbergh became a world famous celebrity who traveled extensively advocating aeronautics, pacifism, and conservation. He died in 1974 at the age of 72.
